Our new game project: Beneath The Cyclops Cemetery
One year after the release of The World After, we can finally announce what we have been working on for the past year, our new game project: Beneath The Cyclops Cemetery.
A new FMV adventure game
Beneath the Cyclops Cemetery is an ambitious Sci-Fi video adventure with inventory puzzles and rail-shooter style gunfights.
It is entirely shot on location with an emphasis on special effects and makeups.
Guillaume worked on this project for the past 8 months, he got a writing grant from the French CNC (a public institute that helps funding movies and video games).
It will be a sequel to The World After, set a few hundred years later. However, you won’t have to play the first game to understand the second, you’ll just miss on the lore.
The story
In a distant future, Sarah Lockhart is an investigator who is looking for a missing scientist.
Her investigation leads her to Marseille and the Frioul Islands, an archipelago where old malfunctioning one-eyed robots are sent to be forgotten.
Why should you be as excited as we are?
We are aiming to make Beneath the Cyclops Cemetery the best FMV adventure game since X-Files the game. It will feature:
- An FMV Sci-Fi cyberpunk adventure
- State of the art cinematography
- Engaging storytelling
- Rail-shooter FMV gunfights
- Tons of bonus content, including arcade mini-games!
Marseille and the Frioul Islands
We will shoot the game entirely on location, mostly in Marseille and the Frioul Islands, some of the most beautiful landscapes in the South of France. Here are our location scouting pictures:
Once again, on-set special effects
We will work with some of the most talented FX artists in France to make the cast of robots that the game will feature. Here are some of the robots we made for one of Guillaume’s short film, Morphy’s Law:
What’s next?
We are currently working on funding the game, meanwhile we are making a first prototype that will be completed before the end of the year. We’ll keep you informed here and on our social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin).
Planned release date: first half of 2024.
Meanwhile, you can show us your support by buying The World After on Steam or by checking our cool merch.
